Agoraponic Farms

Agoraponic Farms is a student-led nonprofit, with the goal to design, supply, and build hydroponics systems to grow food sustainability in our local community. We currently operate 3 hydroponic systems on the Rutgers Campus and have installed a system in the Unity Square Community Center in New Brunswick, NJ.

The Problem

In the United States, 1 in 6 households experience food insecurity. Among college students, that proportion is even higher.
Nearly 30% of students at Rutgers University face food insecurity, and that percentage can surpass 56% at other schools across the country.

We will work to create a system suited to your needs whether that be location, budget, customer base, or experience level.
We have years of experience with hydroponic production and will provide you all of the tools to have a thriving system.
For our corporate partners, every system purchased will directly support a hydroponic system at a food pantry.

Why hydroponics?

In the northeastern United States, obtaining fresh produce requires navigating complex supply chains.
Hydroponics uses 90% less water, significantly less land, and allows for year round production.
